rainsuit origin and development
In china
Raincoats originated in China. During the Zhou Dynasty, some people used vanilla "Li Li" to make raincoats to prevent rain, snow, wind and sun. This raincoat is often called "Lionyi". Around the Spring and Autumn Period, the ancients had invented an oilcloth raincoat. "The Twenty-Seven Years of Zuozhuan · Ai Gong" contains: "Chen Chengzi's clothes made of sticks". Du Pre-Note: "Make, raincoat". Duan Yujian of the Qing Dynasty believes that: making is not a straw rain gear, if today's oil cloth coat. According to research, at that time people had an understanding of dry oil plants such as Tong and Yi. The so-called oil cloth is a raincloth made by applying tung oil or Cui oil to the fabric and drying it. After the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the production of oilcloth raincoats went a step further. It could be processed on silk and silk, and it could also be made of silkworm cocoon paper. The Sui Dynasty began to use oilcloth to make raincoats. "The Book of the Sui Dynasty" once showed Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty watching hunting and rain, "entering the oil coat left and right". However, this kind of oilcloth raincoat was expensive, and it was difficult for ordinary people to get it, and only the nobles were blessed to enjoy it. The raincoat of the Tang Dynasty was a combination of coconut clothes and hat. Tang Zhang Zhihe said in "Yuge": "Green coconut clothes, green coconut clothes, and no need to return to the wind and drizzle", which truly described the working people's working situation in raincoats. So "green coconut" and "green coconut clothes" are said, because both are made of plant leaves. In the Tang Dynasty, there were raincoats made of silk. For a long time in history, the lignon coat and the lignon hat were still popular raincoats, but with the development of social productive forces, they were no longer thatched, but replaced by brown, and the production became more and more exquisite. In the Song and Yuan Dynasties, the lignon coat was the raincoat for army soldiers. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, aristocrats also favored the lignon hat bucket, such as Jia Baoyu in "A Dream of Red Mansions", the "jade needle" draped from the jade grass on rainy days, and the "golden vine hat" made of thin strips of rattan skin and brushed with tung oil, which aroused the admiration of girls. The lignon coat was used as rainproof clothing until the appearance of modern new plastic raincoats and gradually left people's vision. However, in some remote mountainous areas, the lignon coat made of plant fibers can still be seen
In The World
In 1747, French engineer Francois Freno used latex obtained from rubberwood to dip cloth shoes and coats in this latex solution, which could play a waterproof role. In a rubber factory in Scotland, England, there was a worker named MacIndus. One day in 1823, MacIndus accidentally dripped the rubber solution on his clothes while working. After he found it, he quickly wiped it with his hands, but the rubber liquid seemed to have seeped into the clothes, not only did not wipe it off, but was painted into a piece. MacIndus was reluctant to discard the dress, so he still wore it to work. Soon, MacIndus noticed that the rubber coating on the dress seemed to be coated with a layer of waterproof glue, which was ugly but impervious to water. He simply applied rubber to the whole dress, and the result was a garment that could keep out rain. With this new dress, MacIndus no longer had to worry about rain. The novelty soon spread, and colleagues in the factory followed MacIndus's example and made waterproof tape raincoats. Later, the reputation of the tape raincoat grew, attracting the attention of the British metallurgist Parks, who also studied this special kind of clothing. Parks found that the rubber-coated clothes, although impervious to water, were hard and brittle, making them unsightly and uncomfortable to wear. Parks decided to make some improvements to the clothes. It was not until 1884 that Parks invented and patented the technology of using carbon disulfide as a solvent to dissolve rubber and make waterproof products. In order to quickly apply this invention to production and turn it into a commodity, Parks sold the patent to a man named Charles. After that, he began to produce raincoats in large quantities, and the trade name "Charles Raincoat Company" quickly became popular all over the world. However, people did not forget the credit of MacIndus, and everyone called the raincoat "MacIndus". From then on, the word "raincoat" was called "mackintosh" in English. After entering the twentieth century, the appearance of plastics and various waterproof fabrics made the style and color of raincoats increasingly rich [1]. After the 1960s, raincoats made of plastic film or treated raincoats became widely popular [2].
