First, a brief overview of Mongolia's military: it currently has an active force of about 20,000 personnel, with around 140,000 in reserve. As for its combat effectiveness, Mongolia has largely been at peace since World War II, resulting in a lack of combat experience except for some peacekeeping missions in Africa.
Looking at the army, it consists of 8,500 personnel organized into 8 brigades: 6 mechanized infantry brigades, 1 artillery brigade, and 1 rapid reaction brigade. They have over 650 armored vehicles, mostly outdated Soviet models, more than 100 self-propelled artillery pieces, and over 1,000 towed artillery pieces. Despite being labeled as mechanized, their level of mechanization is limited.
The army's equipment is mostly ineffective, and with an annual defense budget of less than $30 million, funding for new equipment is inadequate. Consequently, their capability is lower than many African countries, with limited endurance for combat. It is said that most of Mongolia's army is deployed in the southern regions and provinces.

Regarding the navy, Mongolia, being landlocked, has only about 70 personnel and one outdated ship, which is less effective than even some fishing vessels, rendering its combat capability negligible.
Finally, the air force has around 1,600 personnel, an increase from previous numbers. Their equipment consists mainly of outdated aircraft. They have about 14 fighter jets, including 9 MiG-21s and 5 MiG-29s, all of which are very old. They also have around 60 helicopters, mostly transport models, with 20 being armed helicopters, but these are also outdated Soviet-era models with poor performance.
