The earliest camouflage patterns in Colombia were based on the World War II American M1942 speckled camouflage.

From the 1970s to the early 1990s, all branches of the Colombian Armed Forces wore variations of this camouflage.

There are several versions available, mainly in brown and green.

This camouflage pattern is known locally as Tigrillo.

From the early 1990s, the Colombian Armed Forces widely adopted a copy of the M81 woodland camouflage.

It gradually replaced the previous duck hunting camouflage.

Like the early camouflage, several variants have been produced over the years by different manufacturers and production standards.

The Army Special Mountain Operations Unit used a variant of woodland camouflage in the 1990s.

This camouflage is distributed with gray/black patches on a white background.

Following in the footsteps of Canada and the United States, Colombia adopted its own pixelated camouflage design in 2006.

This camouflage is colloquially known as camflado pixelado, and some people call it "Patriota" (patriot) digital jungle camouflage.

It gradually replaced the old M81 woodland camouflage.

This camouflage is available in woodland/temperate and desert versions.

The woodland/temperate version is somewhat similar to the PLA Second Artillery's Type 07 digital woodland camouflage.

The area and proportion of dark green and brown are less than those of Type 07, and the area and proportion of black are more than those of Type 07. Light green corresponds to the yellow of Type 07.

The Colombian Air Force began using digital camouflage designs in 2015.

Incorporates a unique overprint feature that looks like it has a grid on it.

The color scheme is embedded with two shades, in each gray and olive green with black patch gaps.
